Hi, I'm Carol Preflatish and I write romantic suspense, although lately I've ventured into sweet romance and contemporary westerns.

I always want to thank my husband. He doesn't read my books, but he does help if I have a question that he's able to answer. I also thank my best friend, Sandy. She's my sounding board and always willing to listen to an idea and give me her honest opinion. Lastly, I thank my mother. She loves reading romances. I used to call them her smut books before I started writing them. She's my number one fan.

1 sentence to describe your book.

The last person Grace Taylor wanted to see was her old boyfriend, Andy Granger, but that's exactly who was standing in front of her on the porch of the ranch.

An excerpt from your book, approximately 300 words long.

"Tell us about your boyfriend, Grace," Maria teased. "You did have a high school sweetheart, didn't you?"

"Well, yes."

"What did he look like?" Silvia inquired.

"He was just an average guy."

Lucy's drink was served and she took a gulp. "Next question, how old were you when you lost your virginity?"

As Grace opened her mouth, someone behind her spoke. "She was sixteen."

She recognized that voice and turned to find Andy standing behind her.

"What are you doing here?"

"Grace, aren't you going to introduce us?" Lucy said, standing.

"He's not worth an introduction." She turned back to the table.

"I'm Lucy Marlow and you are?" She extended her hand and took his.

"Andy Granger, Grace's high school sweetheart."

"And, apparently the man she lost her virginity to," Lucy said, still holding his hand. "Would you like to join us? We'd love to hear stories about our Grace."

"No, he wouldn't." Grace stared at Andy.

He apparently got the message. "No, I can't. I just wanted to stop by and say hello." He pulled away from Lucy's grasp and walked back to the bar where he joined his buddies.

"Pity," Lucy said, watching him walk away. "Grace, he's hot as hell. Was he that good-looking as a teenager?"

"We parted on bad terms, so I'd just as soon not talk about him."

"We understand," Silvia said.

"Now wait a minute. So, you have no interest in him?" Lucy asked.

"None."

"Then, you wouldn't mind if I went over and talked to him?"

Grace knew that meant Lucy would do everything she could to get him into bed tonight. But, what could she do? She had no claim to him, and, as soon as this weekend was over, she didn't plan on ever seeing him again. "Not at all. Talk to him all you want."

That's all Lucy needed to hear. She jumped up and sauntered over to the bar where Andy sat with his buddies.

"I can't believe you let her do that," Maria said. "You know what she has in mind."

"I have no feelings for him."

"That's not how it looked when you heard his voice behind you just now."

Feb 2013 Book 2, The Scientist. Simon Winters, the charismatic agent known for his love of danger is given the task of protecting scientist Elizabeth Barrett while she completes her research. What seems like a straightforward mission turns deadly when it seems someone wants her and her research dead.

April 2013 Book 3, The Actress. Bryce Black, the technical wizard of the Protectors agency does not normally do personal protection assignments but he falls for Katrina, the famous television actress under his care, and when she is kidnapped by an obsessed fan, does everything in his power to find her.

June 2013 and later in print,Book 4, The Hostage. She is known only as Omega, and when businessman James Northam is rescued from a desert terrorist compound by this enigmatic and secretive agent he is determined to track her down and thank her. But someone else wants to find her too, for much more sinister reasons.

August 2013 Book 5, Widowers Child. Jane Preston is new to the Protectors agency. Her first assignment is a recommendation from Meg, formally known as Omega to watch over the five year old child of wealthy Paul Foster after a kidnap attempt. Jane begins to suspect there is more to this story and that Paul is keeping secrets from them all.

October 2013 Book 6, Undercover Agent. Lucien St John has been working undercover for over 2 years as finance officer to corrupt Russian businessman Karl Cheknov. In order to finally penetrate Karl’s private empire Lucien needs a fiancé and the only person available is retired agent Jade, now working as a personal assistant for the head of the Protectors agency. When the assignment turns dangerous these two vastly different people must overcome their aversion to each other and work as a team.

Dec 2013 Book 7, Secret Family. Peter Sinclair needs to find Amity Blake who has posted a picture online of someone she believes to be her long lost father. The picture is of deceased agent Cal Davies, a man with many enemies. Peter must protect her then send her on her way to begin a new life before someone tracks her down and takes their revenge on Cal’s only living bloodline.
